Looking back

Congratulations to the teams in our preseason Super 25 high school football rankings. Or should we be offering our apologies?

If this season is anything like last season, the final rankings will look quite a bit different than the ones you see today. (The No. 1 team will be unveiled tomorrow.) In fact, 14 teams in last year’s preseason Super 25 finished the season unranked. Only four teams, including defending No. 1 John Curtis (River Ridge, La.), finished higher than their original ranking. And five of the top 10 teams in the final Super 25 rankings were unranked to start the year.
