End of school year signals start of summer sports camps

The 2012-13 school year is coming to a close, but area gymnasiums and athletic fields won’t go unused this summer.

The majority of Northeast Ohio school districts will use their athletic facilities to host youth sports camps over the course of the next two months.

USATodayhss.com/Cleveland recently contacted high school athletic directors from across the region and encouraged them to submit information about their respective school’s summer sports programs.

Euclid High School

Built 2 Win Basketball Camp

-June 17 – June 20 (for grades 3-8) and June 24 – June 27 (for grades 9-12) at Euclid High School. Camp runs from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day.

-Campers will be taught the skills and knowledge needed to enhance their basketball abilities. Areas covered will include shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding, moving without the ball and individual offensive and defensive principles

-Cost is $65. Registration will take place on the first day of each camp.

-This camp is about making that shot under pressure, highlighting shooting and ball handling fundamentals, as well as shooting drills and contests to improve shooting ability
