Three players from the northern Atlanta suburbs are among the 20 players chosen to the 2013 WBCA High School All-America Game presented by Nike.
The 22nd annual High School All-America Game, which is held as part of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Convention, will be played Saturday, April 6, at the New Orleans Arena, site of the 2013 NCAA Women’s Final Four.
Kaela Davis of Buford, Ga., Alexis Brown of North Gwinnett (Suwanee, Ga.) and Diamond DeShields of Norcross, Ga., were the three Atlanta-area players named to the team. Three of the players on the team are headed to play at North Carolina: DeShields; Stephanie Mavunga of Brownsburg, Ind.; and Jessica Washington of Jenks, Okla. Three Duke signees are also on the team: Kendall Cooper of St. Anthony (Long Beach, Calif.); Rebecca Greenwell of Owensboro (Ky.) Catholic and Oderah Chidom of Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland).
The rest of the team: Linday Allen, St. John's College (Washington, D.C.); Saniya Chong, Ossining, N.Y.; Nia Coffey, Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minn.); Linnae Harper, Whitney Young (Chicago); Jessica Jackson, Jacksonville, Ark.; Erica McCall, Ridgeview (Bakersfield, Calif.); Kelsey Plum, La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day; Taya Reimer, Hamilton Southeastern (Indianapolis); Mercedes Russell, Springfield, Ore.; Karlie Samuelson, Mater Dei (Santa Ana., Calif); Tyler Scaife, Hall (Little Rock, Ark.); and Ronni Williams, Atlantic (Daytona Beach, Fla.).
