Ashwaubenon's Strainis to play 2 sports at Marian

Ashwaubenon senior Lindsey Strainis has decided to pursue playing hockey and softball at Marian University in Fond du Lac.

Strainis earned first-team all-Fox River Classic Conference honors as shortstop during her junior softball season. She had a .442 batting average and finished in the top two on the team in runs, singles, triples, stolen bases and walks.

Strainis also earned all-Eastern Shores Conference honors as a goalie on the Bay Area Ice Bears co-op girls hockey team. She went 14-1 with five shutouts as a junior to help the Ice Bears win their first WIAA state title.

SMANEY COMMITS

Bay Port senior Bailey Smaney has given a verbal commitment to the UW-Green Bay softball team. Smaney had a 0.78 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 27 innings as a junior.
