Only one Super 25 team lost to a non-Super 25 foe last weekend, so there weren’t a lot of changes in the first Super 25 high school football rankings of the regular season.
Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) retained the top spot after drubbing Brophy Prep (Phoenix) 44-0 on Friday. Two Miami schools were big movers as Miami Central moved up from No. 8 to No. 5 with its 24-21 defeat of then-No. 7 Hoover, Ala., and Booker T. Washington (Miami) jumped from No. 11 to No. 5 after dismantling No. 27 Oscar Smith (Chesapeake) 57-21 on Saturday.
Servite, previously ranked No. 19, fell after struggling with Long Beach Poly in a scrimmage and then-No. 15 McEachern dropped out after a close loss to North Gwinnett (Suwanee). Those results opened the door for No. 24 De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) and No. 25 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.).
