Booker T. Washington (Miami) finished No. 1 in the final Super 25 high school football rankings and the Tornadoes were presented a championship banner during a ceremony earlier this month. The team will also be receiving championship rings, and the best part is the players won’t have to pay for them.
The Miami Herald reports that the Miami Dolphins donated $23,585 to cover the cost of the rings. Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel presented the donation, which was inscribed on a comically large check, during a presentation Wednesday at the chambers of the Miami-Dade County Commission.
