JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Trinity Christian cornerback Kevin Toliver II is one of the top recruits in the country. The 5th ranked player in the ESPN 300 took some unprecedented steps this summer in an effort to improve his game.
Toliver contacted Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts III on social media and asked if they could work out together. Shorts was surprised to hear such a request from a high school player, but he obliged. Since then, the two have become close. Toliver has also developed friendships with Jaguars cornerback Will Blackmon and Jaguars receiver Mike Brown.
Trinity Christian’s football team is one of the most talented high school teams ever on the First Coast. The Conquerors will have at least ten Division I signees in February. They begin their season this Saturday at Buford (GA) in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 at 9 PM.
