What’s happening everyone? This is Owen Pappoe here from the Class of 2019, and this is my first RecruitDiary. I attend Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., and I play outside linebacker.  I am 6-1 and weigh 202 pounds. I like to think I have the size of a prototypical backer.

At the moment, many consider me the No. 1 overall player in the nation for the Class of 2019. This is a huge honor and I am really proud that a lot of well-respected people in the community think highly of me and my game. I currently have accumulated 18 FBS scholarship offers from some of the best programs in the nation. Each time I get a scholarship offer, it really is amazing and is always a wonderful feeling knowing that a coach wants you. I am not committed, nor do I have any college that I like more than another, I am extremely grateful for all the interest I have received over the last year or so. So far I have visited Ohio State, Louisville, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, and Clemson, but my favorite visit so far was my visit to Tennessee. My favorite moment of my recruitment so far was when Jimbo Fisher and Mark Richt both offered me personally.

Being thought of as the No. 1 player in my class truly is a blessing and something not to be taken lightly. It is very humbling, but I still have a lot of work to do. This is only my third year ever playing football so I still consider myself to be new to the game and I know I have a lot to learn. This has also been my first year playing outside linebacker. Robert Nkemdiche was the only other Grayson player to ever be ranked nationally as the No. 1 overall player in a class. People compare us a lot but we are different players. Robert was very powerful and played defensive line and I like to play with speed as a linebacker. I hear all the time from coaches that at the same age I am the better athlete. He is a future first-round draft pick and his success is something I would love to have.
