Track & Field: Berlin girls, Omro boys capture wins at UWO

UW-Oshkosh held its annual Waters Meet Friday night and the Berlin girls track and field team, along with the Omro boys, captured titles out of 15 and 16 teams.

Berlin finished with 111 points on the girls side, followed by Winneconne (75) and Waupun (72). Omro finished seventh (30) while Ripon was 13th.

On the boys side, the Foxes won the meet with Waupun, which finished with 91 points. Berlin was third with 85, Winneconne was fifth (48) and Ripon was seventh (27).

Malerie Harmon won two events for Berlin, taking the 1,600 (5 minutes, 34.46 seconds) and the 3,200 (12:16.54) while Julia Silloway added a first-place finish as well. Silloway was first in the triple jump (32-08.50).

Those who finished second include Stacie Klika in the 60-meter hurdles (10.38), Isabelle Heinz in the 60-meter (8.68) and Audrey Krueger in the long jump (15-02.50).

The Berlin 800 relay team won the 800 with a time of 1:55.16.

Winneconne girls got a first place finish from Katelyn Koval in the high jump (4-08) while the 3,200 relay, the 1,600 relay both finished second. Abi Salm added a runner-up in the 800 (2:28.70).

Omro was led by its 800 and 1,600 relay, which finished second and first.

On the boys side, Omro got two first place finishes from its 800 and 1,600 relay, while the 3,200 relay was second. Jacob Lautenschlager and Erik Schwandt added firsts in the 60 hurdles (8.83) and 60 meter (7.28).

Berlin’s Jacob Caswell captured two firsts in the 1,600 (4:35.63) and 800 (2:00.87) while the 800 and 1,600 relays were second. Austin Johnson added a runner-up finish in the 60 meter (7.31).

Winneconne’s Zach Noll won the triple jump (41-0) to lead the Wolves while Luke Kubasta added a second place finish in the 3,200 (10:34.13).

Ripon was led by Evan Long, who finished second in the 400 (52.04).
