NOMINEES: See this week’s finalists
Williams had two TD catches in a 31-28 win Friday vs. McEachern (Powder Springs) in a AAAAAAA quarterfinal. Williams had 106 yards on three catches, but all three were big, especially a 64-yarder late in game that pushed Mill Creek’s lead to 31-21.
“He has really come on for us this year,” coach Shannon Jarvis told GwinnettPrepSports.com. “He is a serious weapon for us. We’ve got it designed to try to get him the ball, and he stretches the field. It was evident on that play right there.”
Mill Creek faces No. 12 Grayson (Loganville) in the state semifinal Friday.
Williams is the 13th Super 25 Top Star of the season. Weekly voting did not begin until all states were in action. The weekly winners will be part of voting for Super 25 Top Star of the Season after state championships are decided nationwide.
