Six and zero.
The Arlington High School football team is headed into next week’s Section 1 Class AA qualifying round undefeated after a 24-18 win at Fox Lane on Saturday.
“We led for the whole game. It was pretty close from the first quarter all the way through,” Arlington coach Mike Morano said. “At the end of the day, they played enough close games this year to find a way to stay calm and make plays when they need to.”
Ricardo Yolas had three touchdowns of 25, 8 and 5 yards. Alex Meyer had a 28-yard field goal and was 3 for 3 on PATs. EJ Escoto and Eli Greene each had an interception. Morano noted that Arlington’s entire defense had a strong effort in the second half.
“Things are going pretty well,” Morano said. “Things have to bounce in your direction to go 6-0. I’m thrilled for our community and I’m thrilled for our kids with the level of preparation they’ve had week in and week out. With the support the community has given us, I’m really thrilled to deliver a season like this for them.”
