DeWitt volleyball moves to No. 1 in Class A

After winning the Portage Central volleyball tournament last week, the DeWitt Panthers have moved up seven spots to No. 1 in the most recent Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association rankings.

Portage Central was Class A’s first-ranked team a week ago and is now at No. 5. DeWitt was at No. 8 previously.

The Lakewood Vikings (29-3), who defeated Class D No. 2-ranked Mendon in a tournament title game on Saturday, have occupied the No. 1 spot in Class B for the second consecutive week. Corunna moved back two spots to No. 10.

In Class C, Laingsburg stayed put at No. 7 and Bath remained at No. 9.

Lansing Christian is the only area school ranked in Class D and has been the sixth-ranked team for three weeks straight.
