Fort handles Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO — The Fort Defiance Indians put together a complete game Tuesday night, powering past Waynesboro 25-13, 25-17, 25-19 in a Valley District volleyball contest.

Jayden Beasley with 12 kills and Tori Cleveland with 10 led the front row attack. Cleveland also contributed 15 digs and Beasley two blocks.

“We played pretty good defense and picked up a lot of balls,” Fort coach Sue Leonard said.

Also contributing to the win were Madi Kimmel with 19 assists and two service aces, Catie Cramer with five blocks and two kills and Aily Wright with three service aces.

Lauren Kelso led Waynesboro with 15 kills and eight digs. Maryssa Jones finished with 18 digs for the Little Giants and Tamarah Jackson added 24 assists in the loss.

Fort also won the jayvee match in two sets, 25-12, 25-16. The Indians, now 8-2 overall and 1-1 in the district travel on Thursday to Lee.
