The No. 2 player in Louisiana won’t be traveling far for school next fall.
John Curtis (River Ridge, La.) lineman Willie Allen, No. 16 in the ESPN 300, committed to Les Miles and LSU on Thursday.
“LSU is home,” Allen said (according to ESPN). “I had been asking God to give me little signs about the place I need to be, and that’s what he did. All the signs pointed me to LSU. I already went to the schools I was really considering more than once. I knew everything I needed to know. The time was right. LSU is the place for me.”
Allen’s decision greatly effects the 2016 standings for the nation’s best recruiting class, where LSU is in a back-and-forth fight with Ohio State. After Ohio State’s massive start to the week, Allen has pushed LSU back ahead of the Buckeyes for the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Team Rankings.
The Tigers are also in play for No. 12 Rashard Lawrence, a five-star DT who will be deciding between LSU and Ohio State on Friday.
