The ballot for this week has the quarterback for Captain Shreve Lucas Grubb and a running back from Byrd in Khoury Clark. Evangel is represented by running back Tamauge Sloan who had a big game in the Eagles first win of the season last week vs. LaGrange. North DeSoto’s Aubrey Scott is on the ballot having run for almost 500 yards but running mate Delmonte Hall has been scoring all the points for the Griffins.

Receivers Tavarius Edwards of Minden, Trayon Jones of Northwood and John Westmoreland of Benton are all capable of putting up big numbers as District 1-4A opens play this week as well.

Here is a breakdown of the week 4 ballot:

Quarterbacks (select 1)

Joshua Mosley, Woodlawn at Northwood: Mosley heads up a Woodlawn team that averages 26 points a game while Northwood is giving up 37 a game.

Lucas Grubb, Captain Shreve vs. Byrd: Grubb has passed for 551 yards and 7 touchdowns this season.

Pryce Curry, Haughton vs. Green Oaks: Curry accounted for 174 yards and a touchdown in win over Woodlawn last week.

Running backs (select 2)

Ahmad Mason, Green Oaks at Haughton: The Giants stayed tough with Airline earlier this year but Haughton held Woodlawn to just one score. Mason led GO with 44 yards rushing in close win last week vs. Fair Park.

Aubrey Scott, North DeSoto at Bossier: Scott may be due for a score or two. He has run for 489 yards but has yet to score as teammate Delmonte Hall has 14 TDs.

Quinton Smith, Bossier vs. North DeSoto: Smith led the Bearkats with 133 yards on 15 carries and scored one touchdown in loss to Logansport last week.

Cameron Davis, Airline at Southwood: Davis led the Viking ground game last week with 70 yards and a touchdown against a tough Ruston squad. Vikes don’t want to start district off 0-1.

Khoury Clark, Byrd vs. Captain Shreve: Big rivalry game for both school and also the district opener. Byrd will be looking for Clark to help provide some offensive success.

Tamauge Sloan, Evangel at Parkway: Sloan led the Eagles last week with 146 yards and three touchdowns in first win of the season vs. LaGrange.

Receivers (select 2)

John Westmoreland, Benton vs. Huntington: One of Garrett Hable’s top targets Westmoreland caught 7 passes for 82 yards in last week’s win.

Johnathan Jones, Parkway vs. Evangel: Will see time on both sides of the ball this week in big district opener.

Alex Antoon, St. Mary’s vs. Loyola: The Tigers find themselves losing their last two, Loyola will be looking for avenging last season’s loss.

Tavarius Edwards, Minden at Fair Park: Edwards is a very explosive, dangerous receiver. Indians are struggling while the Tide is on a roll. Edwards leads the Tide with 11 receptions and has one touchdown.

Trayon Jones, Northwood vs. Woodlawn: The Falcons have put up some points and will need some this week as it opens District 1-4A play against the Knights. Jones has leads Northwood in scoring and averaging over 30 yards per catch.

John Stephens, Logansport vs. Basile: Tigers have a lot of momentum coming into this one and Stephens is a big reason. He caught 5 passes for 75 yards and one score in last week’s win.

Teams: (select 1)

Byrd vs. Captain Shreve

Captain Shreve vs. Byrd

Shreve is 3-0 while Byrd is 0-3 but throw the records out in this heated rivalry. Anything goes but Shreve is hungry to finally get a win over the Jackets.

Woodlawn at Northwood

Northwood at Woodlawn

District 1-4A opener for both, Woodlawn is 2-1 while Northwood is 1-2. Could be a shootout as both schools have given up a bushel of points.
