Future Oklahoma Sooners tight end Grant Calcaterra gets his All-America jersey

How comfortable is the offense at Santa Margarita Catholic with tight end Grant Calcaterra?

Well, in a 37-7 victory against Loyola Academy (Los Angeles) in the second game of the season, Calcaterra was on the receiving end of the first 11 completions. He had 11 receptions, 237 yards and three touchdowns by halftime and finished with 15 receptions for 286 yards.

It’s that type of skill that has coaches excited at Oklahoma, where Calcaterra committed in April.

But before he gets to Norman, Calcaterra will finish his high school football career at the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 1 in Orlando.

Calcaterra received his honorary jersey Tuesday during a ceremony at high school as part of the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance.

Ranked as the No. 2 tight end in the Class of 2017 by ESPN, the 6-4 tight end also is a key player on the school’s basketball team.
