The Galesburg-Augusta football team will be in playoff mode in Week 9 of the regular season, after the Rams moved one win away from clinching a playoff berth following a 12-7 victory over Martin on Friday.
With the victory, Galesburg-Augusta improved to 5-3 on the season. The Rams next face Marcellus on Oct. 21 for a chance to secure a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 1997.
Trisen Terry had a big day running the football for Galesburg-Augusta, scoring on a pair of 2-yard touchdown runs, the second coming with just 52.8 seconds remaining in regulation to seal the win. He finished with 27 carries for 156 yards, while leading the defense with 10 tackles. Also for the Rams, Max Wilkerson had nine tackles; Bryan Beard had seven tackles, Anthony Brewer and Max Landers had an interception apiece and Kyle Knowlton-Branch had a fumble recovery.
