Yale star Brandon Sherrod thanks high school band after final college game

The Hillhouse (New Haven, Conn.) High School band had the opportunity of a lifetime this weekend, as they were asked to serve as the traveling crew for the Yale basketball team at the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs, of course, beat Baylor in their opener before falling to Duke over the weekend.

Still, it appeared the group earned some valuable experience along the way.

“I’ve never been so nervous in my life,” Devonte Fletcher, a junior drum major told WTNH-TV. “There were so many people I just couldn’t get over the amount of people that were there.”

And after Yale’s loss, the high schoolers also learned a lesson in appreciation and humility from Bulldogs star senior Brandon Sherrod, who reached out to the students to thank them after his final collegiate game.
