The Millbrook High School football team has aimed to keep improving as the season progresses, and on Friday it showed.
Cody Homa had 25 carries for 135 yards with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, helping lead the Blazers to a 16-14 win over visiting John S. Burke Catholic.
“It was a great win for us,” Millbrook coach Sean Keenan said. “I think we’re starting to get healthy and we’re playing better as the season goes along. This was a great team victory.”
Homa caught a 46-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Wright. Wright, the senior quarterback, passed for two touchdowns.
On defense, Mike Passarelli and Conner Latimer each recorded six tackles. Tom Gjergjaj added five tackles.
The Blazers (3-4) will recognize their seniors before their game against Tri-Valley at 7 p.m. on Oct. 21.
“We’re honoring our seniors for being a part of our program,” Keenan added, “and we’re prepared to move on to the playoffs.”
