As 2016’s Homecoming rapidly approaches, students may be in the dark about the fundamentals of this memorable night.
The When and Where: Homecoming dances have been a tradition of welcoming back alumni to Chartiers Valley for many years. This year’s dance will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 7 to 10 pm in the school’s cafeteria; 50 Thoms Run Road, Bridgeville, PA, 15017.
The Theme: The theme this year will be a tasteful collection of Asian culture: A Night in the Orient. From Japanese origami paper cranes, Chinese Dragons, and Pagodas, which originated in Southeastern Asia, the decorations provide a wide and varied selection of different oriental pieces. The party favors will be fortune cookies from the local Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant.
The Tickets: Tickets will be sold in lunches until the Monday before homecoming, September 26th. The ticket price is $25 per person. If a student is unable to purchase a ticket during his or her lunch period, they can go to Mrs. Steen’s room. If a student wishes to bring a date who does not attend Chartiers Valley or has graduated, they can pick up a “out of school” date form either from the homecoming ticket booth in the cafeteria or in Mr. Butts’ office. This form must be approved by administration before the student can buy the tickets. Be sure to get tickets to the dance soon rather than later because there is a limited amount and tickets will not be sold at the door on the night of homecoming.
