Unreported: Howe vs. Northwest

6:11: LC touchdown! Lashon Bright with an elusive run into the end zone to bring the score to 35-20 (failed two-point conversion).

9:32: Walker INT! Kid doesn’t even play defense; he was just in there to give the Hounds a fresh body and he makes a diving pick. That might have sealed it.

9:17: Touchdown Carmel! Guess who? It’s Walker again, now for a fourth time. It’s 35-14. McDonald with a beautiful pass downfield that split LC’s safeties. Less than 30 seconds to go in the third quarter.

9:15: The Carmel ground game is doing a great job of grinding out first downs and winding down the clock. We’re nearly the fourth quarter with the Greyhounds up 28-14.

9:10: Wow. Carmel comes up with the fumble recovery on a bad exchange between Meredith and the RB.

9:05: Huge INT for LC. Bowers just a deep pass downfield, and the Bears are back on the field with a chance to draw closer. Hounds still leading 28-14. About six minutes to go in the third quater.

9:03: LC fails to convert on 4th and 19. Almost completed the pass, but Carmel’s secondary breaks it up.

8:58: Bell is such a special player. He goes up and grabs the pass in coverage on a third and long. Big play for LC. The Bears are in Carmel territory.

8:56: Walking off under his own power. Good sign.

8:55: Oh, man. I hope John Childs is OK. He’s writhing on the ground right now. Trainers are with him.

8:50: Touchdown Carmel! It’s Jalen Walker again. He takes it 68 yards for the score on the pass from McDonal. 28-14 Carmel with 10:29 left in the the third quarter.

8:44: We’re back from the break in Carmel. Second half is under way.

8:18: HALFTIME: Carmel takes a 21-14 lead into the break.

8:15: Touchdown Carmel! WR screen to Jalen Walker from 37 yards away gives the Greyhounds a 21-14 lead.  It’s Walker’s second TD of the half.

8:14: Carmel is now in LC territory after a nice catch and run by Schmidt on a screen pass.

8:10: Carmel looking to take the lead before half on this drive. McDonald just missed a WR downfield that would have gone for 6.

8:02: Touchdown LC! It’s 14-14 after Bell powers through for the 2-point conversion. 3:07 left in the half.

7:58: LC just needs to keep finding ways to get the ball in Bell’s hands. He is so slippery.

7:53: Oh boy. An amazing catch and  touchdown run by LC’s Bell is negated by a holding penalty.  Wipes out a 50-plus yard TD.

7:47: Touchdown Jalen Walker! McDonald got great protection and was able to improvise until Walker was able to find a soft spot in the zone. It’s 14-6 Greyhounds early in the second quarter. 14-yard TD.

7:45: Nice play call there for Carmel. Screen words to perfection, as the Greyhounds have a first down inside the LC 20.

7:41: Big run for Will Schmidt that takes the Greyhounds into LC territory.

7:40: Second quarter about to begin here; Carmel still leads 7-6. The Greyhounds own the yardage lead 93-37.

7:33: Defenses making big stands so far in this game. It’s 7-6 Greyhounds with just a little time left in the first quarter.

7:29: LC’s Cameron McGrone limping off the field after being attended to by trainers. Hope he’s OK.

7:22: Daveon Bell just ran the longest distance I’ve ever seen for a 5-yard gain. Ran sideline to sideline trying to evade Greyhounds.

7:15: We’re up and running! Click the link above to watch the Carmel-Lawrence Central game live.

7:07: Going through some technical difficulties for the MIC Network Game of the Week. We’re working on getting it up and running.
