Javian Dayne, son of former Heisman Trophy winner, posts five touchdowns

Javian Dayne, the son of 1999 Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne, continued his great start to the season Friday night.

Dayne, who plays for Waunakee (Wis.) High, ran for 226 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-14 victory against Monona Grove (Monona, Wis.). Waunakee is about 10 miles from Madison, where Ron Dayne starred for the Badgers.

That follows a two-touchdown performance in the season opener last week against Oregon (Wis.) in which Dayne ran for 238 yards on 25 carries in a 30-13 victory.

Dayne is 5-11 and 215-pound junior.

He is not the only athletic child of Ron Dayne. Daughter Jada is a freshman soccer player at the University of Michigan and was named a national finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman last fall as a senior at Waunakee.
