Field hockey recaps from September 19, 2016

A little rain didn’t stop most of a huge day of field hockey from going on as scheduled in the lower Hudson Valley.

Below are recaps from Monday’s contests.

John Jay-Cross River 2, Horace Greeley 0: Jacque Manno scored unassisted and Hannah Babcock scored off a Tyman Cronin assist.

Quaker goalie Willa Kuhn had 12 saves. Haley Martinsen got the shutout with seven saves.

Clarkstown North 3, Yorktown 1: Olivia Sanchez had a big game with 19 saves for the Cornhuskers but Clarkstown North got two goals from Kristin McGrade and one from Maris Daly en route to the win.

Jocelyn Kaminskiy added an assist.

Natalie Grammer scored for Yorktown off a Caitlin Verber assist.

Alex Laquerdara had three saves for Clarkstown North.

Brewster 7, Sleepy Hollow 3: Emily Fego had a hat trick for the Bears.

Ruby Martinez, Carly Mengler, Jacqueline Benvenuto and Jaclyn Anderek also scored. Lindsey McLaughlin and Emily Schaub each had two assists and Benvenuto, Mary Galgano and Grace Pastore had one assist each.

Arielle Edber, Josephine Galeotafiore and Gabrielle Delmonico scored for Sleepy Hollow.

Marissa Fortugno had 10 saves for the Headless Horsemen and Samantha Anfusco and Antoinette Guerriero both had three stops for Brewster.

North Rockland 2, Pine Bush 2: Kerri Gutenberger and Cait Lynch scored for the Red Raiders and Emma Mavrorasakis had an assist.

Lyndsey Beret and Brittany Vasquez scored for Pine Bush.

Pleasantville 3, White Plains 0: Jackie Bendenson turned away 10 shots to record the shutout.

Emma Hickey had a goal and an assist and Katie Keane and Callie Sullivan also scored.

Caroline Kovach and Lexi Moskowitz added an assist each.

Jen Ortega-Salazar stopped eight shots for White Plains.

Pelham 6, Lourdes 1: Six Pelicans scored, including Madelyn Dunbar, who also had two assists.

Other Pelham goals were put in by Lauren Hade, Delia Crotty, Lucy Conway, Alissa Manos and Ashlynn Mustafa.

Hannah Mackay had an assist.

Rye 7, Rye Country Day 0: Fusine Govaert had three goals and two assists and Alex Meyer scored twice and added an assist.

Lainie Agosta and Kate Stevens also scored and Emily Mann and Christina Cardino each had an assist.

Ruthie Reynolds had 13 saves for the Wildcats and Genny Kortick had three.

Maggie Devlin had six saves for Rye.

Ursuline 3, Ossining 0: Marge Taylor, Holly Lombino and Katie Gies scored.

Kay Woodtli had two assists.

Panas 2, Hen Hud 1: Hen Hud goalie Carole Sincacore probably couldn’t have played better. After all, she stopped 22 shots.

But Panas remained unbeaten, thanks to two second-half goals.

Lisa Guzzo scored off a corner on a Carlyn Mucci assist with 18 minutes left in the game. Hen Hud tied things with 10 minutes to play on a Sarina Abraham goal off a Toni Ann Rosa assist.

The Panthers’ game winner came with 5:34 left as Jesse Devlin scored unassisted.

Jasmina Rosa had four saves for the Sailors.

Somers 1, Briarcliff 0: The Tuskers won their fifth game of the season behind Katie Campbell’s goal.

Jess Garlasco had four saves for the Bears.

Jess Monaco stopped one shot for Somers.

Mamaroneck 6, Suffern 0: Brigid Knowles had two goals and Paige Danehy had a goal and three assists.

Sophie Brill, Elizabeth Brissette and Sophie Miller also scored.

Brissette added two assists and Molly Banks had one as Mamaroneck increased its record to 4-1-1.

Suffern goalie Alyssa Sanchez made 13 saves. Tiger goalie Charlotte Mackie saw no shots.

Nyack 8, Byram Hills 0: Jenna Dangler and Ava Dobbelaer each had two goals and Arielle Rodriguez had a goal and two assists during a Nyack offensive onslaught that saw it put 31 shots on net.

Hailey Whalen, Katie Faccioli and Oliva Demetres also scored and Arleigh Rodgers, Hayley Demetres and Emily Connery also had assists.

The Bobcat goalies had little time to breathe. Kathryn Eisenhower had 17 saves and Serena Feldman 14 saves.

Nyack goalie Elizabeth Lavender stopped two shots.

Lakeland 8, Pearl River 0: Kelsey McCrudden had a hat trick and Cameron Lischinsky had two goals and an assist to pace the 5-0 Hornets.

Meghan Fahey, Julianna Capello and Alex Ryan also scored, Ryan’s goal being the first of her career.

Cali Cortese and Caroline Cahill both had two assists.

Pirate Kerry Gettler stopped 15 shots.

Cassie Halpin faced no shots in the first half. Kellie Smith had two saves for Lakeland in the second.
