Lakeland shuts out Panas, Holy Child wins third game, Byrne leads Hen Hud

Lakeland did what Lakeland does Thursday, ending teams’ unbeaten streaks. This time the victim was district rival Panas.

Rockland teams had the day off but farther west in Westchester Kelsey Byrne had three goals in Hen Hud’s win over Lourdes.

Bronxville 3, North Salem 0: Hadley Barr opened the scoring in the first half and the Broncos sealed the game in the second with Mia Bettino scoring off a scramble on a penalty corner and Ellie Walsh finding the net in the closing minutes.

Hannah Weirens assisted on Bettino’s goal.

Bronxville had four corners to three for North Salem, which suffered its second loss of the season against four wins and two ties.

North Salem keeper Oliva Desanto had six saves. The Broncos’ Catherine Gordon had three.

Holy Child 8, Byram Hills 0:

Holy Child notched its third win of the year against only one loss as Lila Pfohl, Olivia Bonner and Martina Garate-Griot each scored twice and Molly Mackie had four assists.

Agustina Garate-Griot and Maddie Lyons also scored.

Martina Garate-Griot had two assists and Emily Pelligrino added one

Kathryn Eisenhower had 12 saves for the winless Bobcats. Charlotte Wertimer had one save for Holy Child.

Briarcliff 1, Pawling 1: Hannah Orce scored for Briarcliff and Kiera Tucci had Pawling’s goal.

Charlotte Luttkus assisted on the Orce score.

Sofia Marcellino had seven saves for the Bears.

Pawling’s Kayla Chavarri had one save.

Lakeland 7, Panas 0: In a battle of unbeatens, district rival Panas was trounced despite a 19-save performance by Panther keeper Jasmina Rosa.

Mia Lennon and Cali Cortese led the 6-0 Hornets with two goals each and Caroline Cahill had a goal and an assist.

Jessica Ascencao and Meghan Fahey also scored.

Kelsey McCrudden had two assists and Cameron Lischinsky added another.

Lakeland keepers Cassie Halpin and Kellie Smith didn’t see a shot from Panas, which fell to 5-1.

Croton 2, Pleasantville 1: Arielle Vergara scored in both halves, both times unassisted.

Caroline Kovatch scored for the Panthers off a Callie Sullivan assist.

Jackie Bendenson had four saves for Pleasantville.

Maddy Camillieri stopped three shots for Croton.

Irvington 1, Putnam Valley 0: Elizabeth Segreti scored in the first-half and the Bulldog defense did the rest against the Tigers, who fell to 1-6.

Lauren Turner had 10 saves for Putnam Valley.

Horace Greeley 2, Carmel 0: Nikki Potter had a goal and assisted on Katie Graham’s goal..

Despite that, Carmel’s Elaina Nacinovich had a huge day in goal with 22 saves.

Quaker goalie Willa Kuhn stopped one shot.

Hen Hud 4, Lourdes 1: Senior captain Kelsey Byrne netted a hat trick and junior Stephanie Mandelkow also scored.

Sailor senior Toni Ann Rosa and junior Andrea Goncalves had assists.

Nicole DeMattio scored for Lourdes.

Hen Hud senior Carole Sinacore had three saves, as did Lourdes’ Mia Ardovini-Brooker.

Valhalla 4, Hastings 0: The Vikings scored all their goals within the last 14 minutes of the first half.

Michaela DeNatale had two goals and Jackie Gonzalez and Angela Vlad one each.

Lauren Kreder had two assists.

Hannah Sperger stopped four shots for Hastings. Valhalla goalie Breanna Ciaraullo had two saves.
