Local roundup: Spackenkill volleyball sweeps

High school sports

Amaya Anderson led Spackenkill High School’s volleyball team with five kills, an ace and a block in their 25-16, 25-12, 25-14 win over visiting Ellenville. Nini Sher had four kills, 11 assists and 20 aces.

Millbrook 3, John A. Coleman Catholic 0 – Kayla Gusikoff had seven aces and 25 assists as the host Blazers improved to 4-0, sweeping the Stateswomen, 25-15, 25-5, 25-6.

Brooke Babbitt had seven kills for Millbrook.

John Jay, 3, Mahopac 1 – Skylar Kellam had seven aces, two kills, two assists and 24 digs in the Patriots’ 25-15, 22-25, 25-16, 25-18 win over the host Indians. Cassidy McDonald added 11 kills and one block.

Red Hook 3, Highland 1 – Morgan Corless had seven aces and 27 assists as the host Raiders beat the Huskies 25-17, 25-12, 23-25, 25-10. Meaghan Hardeman had seven aces and four digs.

For Highland, Jillian Brennie had nine digs. Lucy Long added seven digs.

Arlington 3, Carmel 0 – Milli Allen five service aces and 17 assists, as the Admirals swept host Carmel 25-11, 25-21, 25-13. Tatum Pittman added four blocks and five kills.

Rhinebeck 3, Dover 0 – Mikaela Holt had two aces and five kills as the visiting Hawks swept the Dragons 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.

Anna Booz had four aces and 18 assists for Rhinebeck. Lauren Platt had five kills and three blocks.

For Dover (2-3), Ariana Ball had 15 assists, Sammi Beebe had nine digs and Euphenie Andre had 11 kills.

Pine Plains 3, Webutuck 2 – Ashley Starzyk had eight digs, six blocks and 15 kills in the visiting Bombers’ 22-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-21 win.

Barijana Caldas had nine kills, six aces, one block and 10 assists for the Warriors.

Hendrick Hudson 3, Our Lady of Lourdes 0 – Vanessa Jacobs had 11 digs while Jessica D’Auria had 15 kills and three blocks, but the visiting Sailors won 25-15, 25-19, 25-17.

Rondout Valley 3, Marlboro 0 – Emily Beck had five kills and Jewel Schroder added four, but the visiting Iron Dukes lost in Accord.

Taylor Aube had four aces for Marlboro.

Saugerties 3, New Paltz 1 – Kelly Brinkman had six aces and six kills for the visiting Huguenots, but the Sawyers won 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Field hockey

Audrey Treanor scored on a pass from Erin Robin, as host Arlington tied Kingston 1-1 in Freedom Plains.

Pawling 3, Edgemont 1 — Olivia Grande, Courtney Adams and Ava Panzer each scored, as the visiting Tigers improved to 3-4.

Girls tennis

Julie Truncali and Kaiya Wigton won at first doubles, as Marlboro defeated Highland 4-1, in the continuation of a Sept. 1 match that was suspended due to rain.

Marlboro is 4-1. Highland is 1-5.

Boys golf

Spackenkill improved to 9-0 with a 161-192 win over visiting Onteora at par-36 McCann Memorial Golf Course.

Erik Stauderman shot a 34 with three birdies and five pars.

Wallkill 212, Highland 248 — Luke Munson shot a 58 for the Huskies at par-35 Turtle Creek Golf Course in Wallkill.

Millbrook 192, Rhinebeck 203 — Tyler Schaad led the Blazers with a 2-over-par 38, while Steve Byrum had a 44 for the Hawks at par-36 Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club late Monday.

Girls swimming

Host Our Lady of Lourdes defeated Beacon, 95-67 late Monday at Poughkeepsie Middle School.

Anne Bubel won the 200 individual medley in a time of 2:33.92. Eleanor Bolander won the 200 freestyle (2:15.40).

Cornwall 49, Highland 41 — Antonia DeMassio won the 200 freestyle (2:10.94) for the visiting Huskies at Cornwall High School late Monday.

Cornwall 52, Marlboro 35 — Kerry Flynn finished second in the 200 individual medley (2:41.42) late Monday.
