NATCHITOCHES — Loyola’s Jacob Allen ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more and the Flyers used a strong fourth quarter to defeat St. Mary’s 34-13 in Thursday night high school football action.

Loyola (4-0) held a 14-13 lead going into the final period of play.

Ethan Stansell’s 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter extended the Flyers’ lead to 20-13. Stansell had a big night with 200 yards rushing on 33 attempts.

Allen later threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Tony Dorsey and Josh Hawboldt’s kick gave Loyola a 27-13 lead. Allen’s 2-yard run and Hawboldt’s kick with less than a minute remaining closed out the scoring at 34-13.

While Loyola finished strong St. Mary’s (1-3) started fast.

The Tigers opened the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run from Slade Bienvenu and extra point from Casey Oden for a 7-0 first-quarter lead.

Memories, support boost Geter’s return to Loyola

St. Mary’s extended the advantage to 13-0 on a 2-yard touchdown run from Matt Nelson early in the second quarter.

Allen brought the Flyers within 13-7 at the half on a 2-yard touchdown run and Hawboldt kick. Loyola took the lead in the third quarter on a 14-yard pass from Allen to Dorsey.
