No. 6 Norcross (Ga.) leads six new teams in Super 25 girls basketball rankings

Norcross, Ga., is the highest-ranked new team in the first Super 25 girls regular-season basketball rankings. The Lady Blue Devils (6-0) went 3-0 at the Parkview Tip Off Classic, as Morgan Robinson had 18 points in a 79-45 final game defeat of Northside (Warner Robins). Norcross also defeated defending AAAAAA champion McEachern (Powder Springs) 57-53 in the tournament as Vanessa Blagmon had 18 points.

The other new teams in the rankings: No. 21 Wenonah (Birmingham, Ala.); No. 22 Oxbridge Academy (West Palm Beach, Fla.); No. 23 Wagner (San Antonio); No. 24 Benet Academy (Lisle, Ill.); and No. 25 Collins Hill (Suwanee, Ga.).

Of the teams already in the rankings, Duncanville had the greatest climb as it went from No. 17 to No. 14 as the Panthers won the McDonald’s Texas Invitational, defeating then-No. 15 Clear Springs (League City) 61-48 in the championship as Zarielle Green was the tournament MVP.

Six teams dropped out with one or more losses: No. 3. St. Francis, Alpharetta, Ga.; No. 15 Clear Springs, League City, Texas; No. 22 Columbus North, Columbus, Ind.; No. 21, Butler, Louisville; No. 24 LeFlore, Ala.; and No. 25 Murrah, Jackson, Miss.
