Winston Salem, N.C. – Top point guard at the CP3 Elite Guard Camp on Saturday was debatable, what wasn’t was which guard was rocking the best jewelry.
That accolade, hands down, went to Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) floor general Matt Coleman, who was sporting the national championship ring he earned after knocking off La Lumiere (La Porte, Ind.) 62-60 in the DICK’s Sporting Goods High School Nationals on April 2.
“They came in last Thursday,” Coleman said. “One of our assistant coaches brought it to me just now so I had to show it off to all the guys.”
Coleman’s plans for the ring?
“I’ll take about two weeks and rock it everywhere just to show everybody,” Coleman said. “Then I’ll put it on my dresser so I can see it every day. But now I can already tell I’m gonna need another ring for my other hand to keep things balanced. So that’s my goal now.”
