The Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Penguins forward Sidney Crosby is on a surge as he has been performing extraordinarily well at the beginning of his season. Oilers forward Connor McDavid looks forward to battling against Sidney Crosby for the first time in his career. The Penguins broke the ice on a goal by Connor Sheary right at the beginning of the game. However, the Oilers would battle back and grasp a 3 goal lead on two goals by Jordan Eberle, and one by Patrick Maroon. The Penguins forward Connor Sheary gave the Penguins a go ahead lead of 4-3 with just one minute remaining in the third period. The Penguins would hold the lead against Edmonton and go on to win the game. Students from Chartiers Valley High School were interviewed on their thoughts about Tuesday nights game.
Brandon Marcucci (grade 12), “I think that the Penguins played really well and deserved the win as they battled back after being down 3-1. Connor Sheary was looking sharp out there as he gave the Pens the W”.
Sean McCrerey (grade 12), “I think that the Penguins looked really good out there and it was exciting to see Connor McDavid play. They had a good hard fought comeback and I’m glad to see that this year the Penguins have proved that they can come back from behind”.
The Penguins surge to a 9-2-2 record and their next game will be against the Minnesota Wild on November 10 2016 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
