Poughkeepsie High School’s football team failed to take advantage of opportunities and Cornwall capitalized on many of them, as the host Pioneers fell, 42-6.

“Any time we were coming back, we found a way to make another mistake,” said Poughkeepsie coach Matt Relyea, who noted the team continued to make mistakes in the red zone.

Antawone West had Poughkeepsie’s lone score on a 9-yard run. Joel Perez led Poughkeepsie with nine tackles. Relyea said many of his key players, including moQuez Dickens and Trevon Reid, had issues with cramps and had to go to the sidelines.

Poughkeepsie (1-2) hosts Wallkill at 7 p.m. Sept. 23.
