Region Roundup: Canyon View crushes Juab to stay perfect in Region 12

Soccer: Canyon View 5, Juab 0 

Canyon View won its fourth game in a row as the Falcons took control early en route to a 5-0 victory at home. Mia Smith scored two goals and keeper Jessica Hinck earned the shutout for the Falcons. Ashlie Olenslager, Ruby Molina and KaKayla Mechem scored for CV as well.

Next up for the Falcons is a road game at North Sanpete Thursday afternoon.

Soccer: Snow Canyon 2, Dixie 1

Snow Canyon got a goal from Brielle Hoskins and an own goal by Dixie and then held on for a 2-1 road victory over Flyers. Starlee Woodbury had a goal for the loss for the Flyers.

With the win, the Warriors sit alone atop the Region 9 standings at 4-1. Next up for the Warriors is a road game against Pine View who defeated Desert Hills 2-1 Tuesday. Dixie will travel north to take on Cedar Thursday afternoon.

Soccer: Hurricane 2, Cedar 0

Hurricane got goals from Shanel Stevens and Mylee Moon as the Tigers took down Cedar with a 2-0 victory at home. Next up for the Tigers is a road game at Desert Hills on Thursday. Cedar hosts Dixie on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Soccer: Pine View 2, Desert Hills 1

Pine View picked up its first win in region play with a 2-1 victory at home over the visiting Desert Hills Thunder. The Panthers trailed 1-0 at halftime, then Erin Callahan scored from close range. Whitney Christenson scored with around 10 minutes left in the game and PV held on to go to 1-4 in Region 9 play.

Next up for Pine View is another home game Thursday as the Panthers look to knock off the red-hot Snow Canyon Warriors. Desert Hills will host Hurricane at home Thursday night.

Volleyball: Desert Hills 3, Hurricane 0

Hailee Harmer had a game-high 16 assists as Desert Hills went on the road and swept the Hurricane Tigers. Charity Bradley led the way with nine kills and Kaylee Carter and Madison Clark each added four kills in in the win (25-15, 25-13, 25-14). Carter had a game-high 15 digs in the win.

Volleyball: Dixie 3, Cedar 0

After falling to Desert Hills in the region opener, the Dixie Flyers got back into the win column with a three-set win (26-24, 25-19, 25-19) over the visiting Cedar Redman. Kelsey Terry had eight aces, Tyler Stilson had 13 kills and Risha Tiatia added 12 in the win for the Flyers.

Volleyball: Enterprise 3, Kanab 2

Enterprise stayed perfect in Region 13 with a five-set victory over visiting Kanab. Jaslyn Gardner had 29 kills, Lacy Drake added 24 digs and Timorie Phelps had a game-high seven aces in the win for the Wolves.

Tennis: Desert Hills, Hurricane, Dixie win

Desert Hills got its revenge over Pine View for a loss earlier in the year as the Thunder beat the Panthers 3-2. Desert Hills swept doubles as Allie Beck and Alani Plumb won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, as did Lyndsi Graf and Jocelyn Kennedy at No. 2 doubles.

Hurricane didn’t lose a set as the Tigers swept Cedar 5-0. Heidi Fawson won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Dixie edged Snow Canyon 3-2, thanks in a part by a three-set win at No. 2 doubles by Kalli Beckstrom and Tess Larkin.
