Volleyball: Dixie 3, Snow Canyon 0
Dixie improved to 6-3 in Region 9 with a three-set sweep against Snow Canyon (25-17, 25-16, 25-18). Risha Tiatia led the Flyers with 10 kills, Tyler Stilson had nine and Ella Burrows had seven kills.
Shawnee Jones hit six service aces and Brooklyn Wright had five for Dixie. Sammi Johnston led the Warriors with nine kills and also had nine digs. Camryn Johnson had 15 assists and 11 digs. Cami Utley also had 11 digs.
Dixie hosts Hurricane and Snow Canyon hosts Desert Hills on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Volleyball: Hurricane 3, Cedar 2
Hurricane won the final two sets as the Tigers beat Cedar in five sets (25-20, 22-25, 14-25, 25-20, 15-7) and won their first region game of the season. Jaiden Smith had 11 kills and two blocks, Kansas Lytle had seven kills and four aces, and Sierra Davis had 14 digs, six aces and five kills.
Hurricane plays at Dixie and Cedar hosts Pine View Thursday at 7 p.m.
Volleyball: Juab 3, Canyon View 0
The Falcons dropped a road match at region foe Juab on Tuesday.
College golf: SUU finishes ninth in Southern California
The Southern Utah men’s golf team finished ninth at the Bill Cullum Invitational in Simi Valley, California. The Thunderbirds shot a team score of 10-over par 874. Fidel Concepcion finished second individually for SUU, shooting 12-under. He finished two shots behind individual winner Jonah Texeira from USC.
Brodey Payzant (T48) shot 4-over over the three-round tournament, Bradley Collet shot 7-over and Ali Hameed shot 11-over. Jake Vincent (16-over) and Humza Hameed (49-over) rounded out the SUU contingent.
UC Santa Barbara shot 31-under par to win the team title.
College Golf: Dixie State finishes 11th in Monterey
The Dixie State men’s golf team finished 11th out of 16 teams at the Otter Invitational in Seaside, California. The Trailblazers shot 38-over 902.
Nicklaus Britt led DSU with a total score of 2-under 214 and finished fourth overall. Jayce Frampton shot 11-over, John Redi carded a 14-over, Alec Johnson posted a 15-over and Carson Walker shot 28-over for the three-round tournament.
Lynn University won the team title with a total score of 1-over 865. Simon Fraser University’s Chris Crisologo win the individual tournament by shooting 8-under 208.
