Roundup: John Jay volleyball sweeps, wins 2nd straight

Skylar Kellam had seven aces and 10 digs as visiting John Jay High School’s volleyball team improved to 3-5 with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-19 sweep of North Salem on Thursday.

Maggie Linseth had seven aces and nine assists for John Jay. Cassidy McDonald added six kills.

Roy C. Ketcham 3, Carmel 0 – Alexis Sabatelle had 14 assists as the host Indians swept the Rams 25-15, 25-18, 25-21 in their league opener.

Courtney Friday had three aces, three blocks and eight kills for Ketcham (4-4, 1-0). Arlene Cespedes added four aces and two digs.

Millbrook 3, Rhinebeck 0 – Brooke Babbitt had 10 aces and 10 blocks as the visiting Blazers beat the Hawks 25-12, 25-18, 25-17.

Hailee Pezze had seven kills. Sam McKenna had eight kills, five aces and five digs. Alex Henlein added six kills.

Anna Booz led Rhinebeck (4-2) with 11 assists, three digs and one kill. Brooke LaRoche had five digs, three kills and a block. Lauren Platt added seven blocks and four kills.

Arlington 3, Mahopac 1 — Afoma Ezelio had 12 kills and three blocks for the host Admirals, in their 25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 28-26 win. Michaela Sciacca added 15 assists, three kills and eight digs, while Amber Litchauer had six kills, three blocks and 24 digs.

Our Lady of Lourdes 3, Sleepy Hollow 0 — Ceara Giametta had 12 assists and five aces, while Allison Brady had six digs in the Warriors 25-14, 25-18, 25-18 victory in Sleepy Hollow.

Red Hook 3, New Paltz 2 – Morgan Corless had 26 assists, four aces and two kills as the visiting Raiders beat the Huguenots 25-18, 14-25, 19-25, 25-13, 25-23.

Abby Carney had seven aces, nine kills and four blocks for Red Hook.

For New Paltz (2-4), Kelly Brinkman had 18 kills and nine digs, Jordan Giancola added 21 dogs, Lexi Klinger had 24 assists and seven digs and Jill Harrison added eight kills, four digs and two aces.

Webutuck 3, Dover 2 – Barijana Caldas had 13 assists and 10 aces as the host Warriors beat the Dragons 25-10, 4-25, 17-25, 25-18, 27-25 in Amenia.

Kristin Brennan added nine kills, four aces and a block for Webutuck (4-2).

For Dover (2-5), Calise Henry had 14 kills and eight digs, Ariana Ball contributed 17 assists and five digs, Euphenie Andre chipped in 12 kills and six digs, Tara Begor had five kills and four digs and Audra Rappaport had 11 digs and three assists.

Marlboro 3, Highland 0 – Gabrielle Nelson had 12 assists, Emily Beck had seven kills and four aces and Marissa Spoto had seven aces as the visiting Iron Dukes beat the Huskies 25-13, 26-24, 25-14. Ashley Gaffney had four kills and two digs for Marlboro.

For Highland, Alexa Rowe had four aces, a kill and a block. Rachel Ombok had four kills and an ace. Lucy Long had four digs, two aces and a kill.

Wallkill 3, Franklin D. Roosevelt 0 – Amber Armeno had four aces and four assists for the visiting Presidents (2-3), as the Panthers won 25-23, 25-21, 25-15. Lourdes Dawson added two aces, three kills and seven digs.

Field hockey

Katie Wall scored twice as the host Ketcham defeated Ossining 4-1 in Wappingers Falls.

Lauren Rodriguez and Julia McDaniels also scored for Ketcham (2-4-1), which received two assists from Kelsey Mulligan. Kristen DeSousa made six saves.

Pawling 1, Briarcliff 1 – Kiera Tucci scored an unassisted goal as the host Tigers (4-3-1) tied.

Pine Bush 1, Spackenkill 0 – Liz Schwoerer made 24 saves, but the host Spartans (0-2-3) lost.

Girls tennis

Laura Koob won in straight sets at first singles as visiting Ketcham swept Mahopac 7-0, winning all matches in straight sets, surrendering only three games. Ketcham is 5-1.

Spackenkill 5, Poughkeepsie 0 – Cynthia Ma, Sarah McCall and Rachel Li each won in straight sets for the host Spartans, who swept both doubles matches and remain undefeated at 6-0. Poughkeepsie is 2-3.

Marlboro 5, Wallkill 0 – The host Iron Dukes’ Emma Messenger defeated Emily Savage 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 at first singles as Marlboro (5-1) prevailed.

Grace Messenger and Brittany DeSantis won singles matches in straight sets for Marlboro, which swept the doubles matches.

Saugerties 3, Red Hook 2 – Gabby Lococo won at third singles, and the first doubles team of Julia Bemis and Dasha Latvis also won, but the host Raiders (2-3) lost.

Horace Greeley 7, Arlington 0 – Carly Levitz beat the Admirals’ Simran Narula, 6-0, 6-0 at first singles as the visiting Admirals lost in Chappaqua late Wednesday.

Westlake 3, Pawling 2 – Martha Toplonitski won at first singles and the team of Ashley Clisby and Carissa Pollidore won at second doubles, but Pawling fell to 1-7 late Wednesday.

Boys golf

Tyler Schaad shot a 2-under-par 34 with an eagle and a birdie as host Millbrook defeated John A. Coleman Catholic 170-224 at Millbrook Golf & Tennis Club.

Mitchell Wiemer shot a 38 for Millbrook (6-1).

Onteora 218, Dover 235 – Ryan Leverich shot a 55 in the loss for Dover (0-5) at Woodstock Golf Course.

Saugerties 189, Highland 226 – Lenny Casabura was the Huskies’ low scorer with a 49, as Highland lost at par-34 Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club Village in Saugerties.

Spackenkill 156, Millbrook 187 – The host Spartans’ Erik Stauderman had a 3-under-par 33 at McCann Memorial Golf Course to improve to 10-0 in a win over the Blazers late Wednesday.

Ryan Ackert shot a 36 for Spackenkill. Millbrook’s low scorer was Collin Smith (42).

Red Hook 174, Wallkill 217 – Austin Lunstedt shot a 1-under-par 35 at Red Hook Golf Club as the host Raiders beat the Panthers.
