The win gave the Knights (5-3, 2-3 in Division II-AA East/Middle Region) their second league win. Baylor fell to 5-3, 1-3.

Jamaal Thompson rushed for 94 yards on 17 carries and scored a touchdown.

Baylor attempted to tie the game in the fourth quarter, but its 2-point pass attempt fell incomplete.

Pearl-Cohn’s Xavier Shepherd had three passing and two rushing touchdowns in the Firebirds win.

Pearl-Cohn (8-1, 4-0 in District 5-4A) also got a touchdown reception and interception return for a score from Darius Hunter Jr.

White House (0-8, 0-4) was led by quarterback Andrew Nixon’s 78 yards passing. It marked the first time the Blue Devils have been shut out all season.

Maplewood 44, Portland 13

Bobo Hodges threw for 232 yards and four touchdowns as Maplewood (6-2, 3-1 in Region 4-4A)  cruised to a Region 4-4A win over visiting Portland (1-7, 1-3). Hodges connected with Lamarco Petty for three of his touchdowns. Tobias McNutt scored on a 70-yard kickoff return for Portland in the third quarter.
