Soccer roundup: Arlington girls top Somers in OT

Molly Feighan scored the winner unassisted with a minute remaining in double overtime for the visiting Arlington High School girls soccer team, which defeated Somers 2-1 on Monday.

Feighan came upon the ball in a crowd and fired a shot from the left corner, placing the ball perfectly into the far top corner with a minute to go in the second OT.

“To be honest, I didn’t even see what happened,” Feighan said. “I kicked the ball and in it went, then I was on the ground. It was a really, really good team effort. I’m so excited about what I think we have going on moving forward.

Somers tied it with two minutes left in regulation. Michaela Fasolino had scored off a pass from Kendall Feighan to put the Admirals on the board in the 60th minute. Becky Gold made five saves for Arlington (13-2).

Beacon 2, Our Lady of Lourdes 1 – Victoria Banks had a goal and an assist to lead host Beacon. Chloe Antalek added a goal, Gabby Lucas had an assist, and Meagan Meeuwisse made five saves for the Bulldogs (10-5) on their Senior Day. Lourdes’ Sarah Shuttleworth had a goal.

Beacon visits Peekskill at 4:30 p.m. and, with a win, would clinch the Conference 2, League E title.

Marlboro 9, Rondout Valley 0 – Hannah Sullivan and Victoria Fino each had three goals as the host Iron Dukes (9-6) shut out the Ganders.

Kali Schindler had a goal and two assists for Marlboro. Emily Mott and Eliz Fino also scored.

Webutuck 2, Pawling 0 – Chloe Panzer and Sofia Stefanopoulos each scored a goal for visiting Webutuck. Jen Espinosa and Mikayla Cochrane each had an assist, and Laura Mendez made 14 saves for the Warriors (4-9-1).

New Paltz 2, Haldane 1 – Cerissa DiValentino scored the overtime goal and added an assist as the host Huguenots beat the Blue Devils.

Lia Kucera also scored for New Paltz (12-3).

Alzy Cinquanto scored with an assist from Missy Lisikatos for Haldane.

Boys soccer

Antonio Alvarez scored the winner off a pass from Fernando Cuellar in the 78th minute as visiting New Paltz defeated Ellenville 3-2. Elijah Tamarchenko had tied it at 2-2 on a free kick in the 49th minute for New Paltz. Alvarez also scored off a feed from Cueller for the Huguenots.

Beacon 2, Our Lady of Lourdes 1 – Kyle Davis scored the game-winning goal for the visiting Bulldogs.

Devin Lambe had a goal and an assist for Beacon (11-5). Matt Wyant added an assist.

Darrow School 5, Faith Christian Academy 1 – Gheeson Gordon scored a goal in the loss for FCA (1-4-1).
