Soccer roundup: Late goals lift John Jay boys

Mike Ciardullo and Matt Howe assisted on each other’s second-half goals as the host John Jay High School boys soccer team defeated Section 9’s Monroe-Woodbury 2-1 on Tuesday in Wiccopee.

Howe scored in the 56th minute and Ciardullo tallied in the 72nd minute for the Patriots (6-7-1), which received eight saves from Chris Preston.

Dover 2, Pawling 0 – Jamal Williams had a goal and an assist to lead host Dover. Kenny Joseph added a goal and Deonty Townsend made four saves for the Dragons (9-3).

Ryan Maasz had eight saves for Pawling.

Wallkill 2, Poughkeepsie 0 – Cristobal Santiago had 12 saves for the visiting Pioneers (6-6) in a defeat. Wallkill is the MHAL Div. I champion.

Ellenville 5, Marlboro 2 – Dominick Pendino and Walter Espinoza scored for the host Iron Dukes (1-10-3) in a loss.

Jawad Haidaoui made six saves for Marlboro, who tied the score at 1-1 and 2-2.

S.S. Seward 5, Pine Plains 1 – Lion Vega scored for the Bombers, in a loss in Florida. Anthony Patricola made seven saves for Pine Plains.

Oakwood Friends 2, Faith Christian Academy 1 — Isaac Sabado scored in the loss for visiting FCA (5-7-1). Andrew Cruz made eight saves.

Girls soccer

Isabelle LaBarbera scored five goals to help undefeated host Red Hook to a 9-0 win over Rondout Valley.

Claire Dickson scored twice for Red Hook (13-0). AJ Fuchs-White and Tessa Husted also scored for Red Hook. Alexa Franceschi and Itzel Mialma each had assists for Red Hook.

Spackenkill 3, Our Lady of Lourdes 1 – Caitlin Speranza scored twice for the visiting Spartans in a non-league game.

Maeve Connolly scored for Lourdes.

Marlboro 6, Millbrook 0 – Hannah Sullivan scored three goals and an assist for the visiting Iron Dukes (8-5).

Keeper Claire Martelli made 20 saves for the Blazers (7-5).

Peekskill 1, Pawling 0 – Kelly Koerner made four saves for the host Tigers in a loss.

Oakwood Friends 4, Faith Christian Academy 1 — Nicole Petfield scored off a pass from Samantha DeLuise in the loss for host FCA (2-6).
