Soccer roundup: Veliz's OT winner lifts Ketcham boys

Dan Veliz scored the game-winning goal five minutes into the first overtime on a rebound shot from outside the penalty area, Roy C. Ketcham coach Scott Grimes said, as host Ketcham’s boys soccer team improved to 4-0 with a 2-1 win over Horace Greeley on Wednesday in Wappingers Falls.

Dylan Ramage took the initial shot in overtime for Ketcham. Nick Laska scored the Indians’ other goal. Chris Argiento made seven saves.

John Jay 4, Suffern 1 – Matt Howe, Ray Sclafani, Dylan Tremblay and Evron Akman scored for the host Patriots, who won in Wiccopee to improve to 2-1.

John Jay hosts Mamaroneck at 5:15 p.m. Friday in the James Caswell Memorial Game. Caswell was the goalkeeper on the Patriots’ 2000 state championship team.

Beacon 3, Arlington B 0 — Nikolai Jordan, Zack Kotzias and Devin Lambe scored for the visiting Bulldogs in Freedom Plains.

Matt Wyant had two assists, while Lambe added one.

Haldane 2, Alexander Hamilton 1 – Seth Warren and Tim McGovern scored for the host Blue Devils in a win in Cold Spring.

Blaine Fitzgerald made 10 saves for Haldane (2-3).

Scarsdale 1, Arlington 0 — Jimmy Martin made nine saves for the host Admirals (2-2) in Freedom Plains.

Arlington hosts Yorktown at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Faith Christian Academy 7, New York Military Academy 0 — Dalton Lois scored four goals to lead Faith Christian Academy.

Rondout Valley 3, Highland 0 – The Huskies lost on the road in Accord, surrendering two goals in the second half late Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Eileen Fiore, Allison Delmar and Gabby Prichard scored for visiting Spackenkill in a 3-0 win over Webutuck in Amenia.

Goalie Laura Mendez made 12 saves for Webutuck.

Millbrook 1, Pine Plains 0 — Haley Kozera scored on a pass from Isa Rosenzweig to lift the host Blazers.

New Paltz 2, Marlboro 0 — Cerissa DiValentino scored and added an assist for the visiting Huguenots.

Highland 6, Rondout Valley 1 — Brooke Harris notched a hat trick in the visiting Huskies’ win.

Ellenville 2, Dover 1 – Chiara Cardiello scored for the visiting Dragons, who fell to 1-3.

Ashley Merlo made four saves for Dover.

Woodstock Day School 2,Faith Christian Academy 1 — Nicole Petfield scored Faith Christian Academy’s lone goal.

Arlington B 2, North Salem 0 – Kate Murphy had a goal and an assist to lead visiting Arlington B late Tuesday. Murphy put the Admirals on the board, then 10 minutes later, fed Devon Schmitt for a goal. Rebecca Campos and Lindsay Wood combined for the shutout.

North Rockland 1, John Jay 0 – North Rockland scored with 10 minutes left in regulation late Tuesday in Wiccopee. Alexis Lainchbury made six saves and Vicki Siedlecki had five stops in the second half for host John Jay (1-2-1).
