State baseball, softball rankings: April 20

Four area baseball teams, including three in Division 2, are featured in the latest Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association state poll.

Defending CAAC Red champion DeWitt, which reached the state quarterfinals last season, is the highest ranked area team at No. 4 in Division 2. Fowlerville, the reigning CAAC White champion, is No. 6 and Haslett is No.8 in Division 2.

Portland St. Patrick, last year’s CMAC runner-up, is No. 6 in Division 4 to round out mid-Michigan’s ranked baseball teams.

In the latest Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association poll, Portland and Fulton are the only area teams listed.

Portland, which reached the state quarterfinals last year, is No. 9 in Division 2. Fulton is among the honorable mention teams in Division 4.
