The Northern Region tennis tournaments were postponed Saturday afternoon due to high winds in Northern Nevada.
Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association assistant director Donnie Nelson said the plan is to continue the Northern 4A Regional at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Bishop Manogue.
It will continue at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Manogue; with semifinals at 1 p.m. Wednesday and championships scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Manogue.
The state tennis tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday with team semifinals at Caughlin Athletic Club.
The 3A Regional tennis tournament will resume at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tahoe-Donner Tennis Club in Truckee. Semifinals are set for Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. with championships at 3:30 p.m., also at Tahoe-Donner.
In 3A football Saturday, Truckee beat Fernley, 39-7, at Truckee.
Truckee improved to 7-1 and will play at South Tahoe, also 7-1, at 7 p.m Friday.
Spring Creek, 8-0, leads the Northern 3A. Elko, 6-2 is in fourth place; Fallon, 4-4 is in fifth and Fernley, 3-5 is sixth. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs.
In the 1A, Virginia City beat Coleville, 60-6.
Bishop Manogue played at Galena later Saturday.
In boys soccer, Galena beat Wooster, 3-0, Saturday at Wooster.
Galena improved to 12-2-1. Wooster dropped to 7-3-1.
In girls soccer, McQueen beat Hug, 4-1, to improve to 8-4-1.
Kendra McAninch scored two goals and Mackenzie Corkill had one. Lilly Brooks had two assists and Chloe Pearce had one for the Lancers.
Hug dropped to 1-12-0.
