Five-star linebacker Baron Browning from Kennedale, Texas, delayed his planned college announcement Tuesday, saying he needed more time.
In-home visits from Ohio State and Alabama coaches on Wednesday must have helped him make up his mind.
Browning, ranked as the No. 9 player overall in the Class of 2017, announced his decision to commit to the Buckeyes on Thursday night on Twitter.
Ohio State’s contingent for the in-home visit included head coach Urban Meyer, defensive coordinators Greg Schiano, and Luke Fickell and offensive coordinator Tim Beck.
His other finalists along with Alabama were Florida State, Michigan, TCU and UCLA.
Browning, an Army All-American, is 6-3, 230.
