Top games: Shelbyville outlasts Stewarts Creek 49-47

Grayson Tramel passed for 325 yards and five touchdowns to lead Shelbyville  (6-2, 3-2 5-5A) to a 49-47 win over Stewarts Creek (4-4, 3-2). Darius Young had three TD catches and 225 receiving yards.

Stewarts Creek gained 499 rushing yards. A 48-yard field goal attempt by Peyton Gardner at the final horn that would have won it for Stewarts Creek hit the goalpost.

Overton 34, Ravenwood 16 

Taverius Travis rushed for 219 yards and three touchdowns to lead Overton (5-3, 3-2 3-6A) past Ravenwood (4-4, 3-2). Jose Bravo nailed two field goals, one from 34 yards and another from 45 yards.

Oakland 35, Riverdale 7

Oakland (8-0, 5-0 2-6A) raced out to a 21-0 lead by halftime and ran past Riverdale (4-4, 3-2). Lazarius Patterson scored two touchdowns and rushed for 92 yards on 16 carries and was named the game’s MVP by the Great American Rivalries series.

Page 38, Giles Co. 35

Tennessee commitment Brent Cimaglia’s 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter gave Page (5-2, 4-0 4-4A) the win over Giles County (5-3, 2-2). Jacob Van Landingham passed for 285 yards and two touchdowns for Page, and Cruze Kerrigan returned a missed field goal 100 yards for a score. John Bachus was 28 of 45 passing for 430 yards passing for Giles County.

Smyrna 42, Cookeville 17

MTSU commitment John Turner was 17 of 23 passing for 288 yards and four touchdowns to lead Smyrna (6-2, 4-1 2-6A). He also ran for two touchdowns. Cade Smith led Cookeville (5-3, 2-3) with 137 yards passing.

DCA 30, Friendship Christian 14 

Jayden Walker scored on a pair of touchdown runs  to help lead DCA (6-2, 4-1 DII-A East/Middle District 1) over Friendship Christian (4-4, 2-2). Walker finished with 145 rushing yards, including touchdown runs of 44 and 29 yards. Friendship Christian’s Justin Seagraves opened the second half with a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Nashville Christian 40, Gordonsville 7

Lelan Wilhoite rushed for 189 yards and Xavier Myers rushed for 111 yards to lead Nashville Christian (6-2, 6-0  5-1A) past Gordonsville (5-3, 5-1). Each ran for two touchdowns and Myers had a touchdown reception.

Trousdale Co. 38, MTCS 21

Quarterback Logan Hewitt ran for three touchdowns and threw for two  to lead Trousdale County (7-1, 5-1 5-1A). Isaiah Harper had 125 rushing yards.  Joseph Peck completed 9 of 21 passes for 109 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for MTCS (7-2, 5-2).

Macon Co. 10, Springfield 9

Springfield’s pass on a 2-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter was dropped, giving Macon County (6-2, 2-2 5-4A) the win. Alan Gardner scored on a 7-yard TD run to pull Springfield (5-4, 2-2) within one to cap a 72-yard drive.
