The varsity doesn’t get to have all the fun.

Undefeated JV football teams from Pisgah and Tuscola played to their own big crowd Thursday night in Waynesville, with the Mountaineers ending the Black Bears’ 19-game winning streak, 55-20.

Both teams came into the game with identical 6-0 overall records and 3-0 marks in the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference. Prior to Thursday, the Pisgah JV team had not lost a game game since 2014 (coincidentally, also to Tuscola).

Of course, the main attraction is Friday night in Canton. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. from Pisgah Memorial Stadium.

Pisgah (7-0, 3-0) and Tuscola (7-0, 3-0) have never met this late in a football season when both were undefeated and they have been playing since 1966.
