Under Armour All-American Chandler Wooten loves the big stage

Chandler Wooten loves the big stages. That’s why he wanted to play in the Southeastern Conference.

With offers from most of the league’s heavyweights, he opted for Auburn last spring over Tennessee and Florida among others, and he’s heard about that from Georgia fans in his home state.

But before he plays on the big stage of the SEC, he will play on the big stage of the Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando on Jan. 1.

Wooten, ranked as the No. 13 outside linebacker by ESPN, received his honorary jersey Thursday when the Selection Tour presented by American Family Insurance came to his school, North Cobb, in Kennesaw, Ga.

He becomes the first player from his school to be selected to the UA game.

“The aspect of the game I’m looking forward to the most is learning from the best past and present NFL players,” said Wooten.

Wooten, who is 6-2.5 and 225, was honored in front of family, friends and teammates as he accepted the jersey.
