Ursuline ends Suffern surge and Govaert leads Rye over Nyack as teams scramble for sectional placement

The clock is ticking on the regular field hockey season with games having to be played by Wednesday, and Thursday slated as the day sectional seedings are determined.

That means by Thursday afternoon or night, Section 1 fans, coaches and players will know whether their team has qualified and, if so, who they will play, when and where to begin the playoffs.

Some teams are scrambling to get enough qualifying points and others are aiming for additional points to lift them into more favorable seeds, so Tuesday and Wednesday gain added importance.

Below is a recap of Tuesday’s action.
