Here are the latest Lansing State Journal high school athlete of the week candidates.

BEN BRITTAIN, HASLETT SWIMMING: The sophomore was part of four victories while helping the Vikings to a CAAC Blue victory over Grand Ledge last week. Brittain was part of the winning 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay teams. He also picked up individuals victories in the 50 freestyle (24.25 seconds) and 100 freestyle (53.02 seconds) for Haslett.
CALLY GOODMAN, PORTLAND GIRLS BASKETBALL: The sophomore helped the Raiders take down previously unbeaten Fowlerville for their first win of the season on Friday. Goodman made three 3-pointers while scoring a team-high 13 points to help Portland to a 46-43 win over the Gladiators. The win moved the Raiders to 1-3 and evened their CAAC White record at 1-1.
MATT HAVEY, LANSING CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL: The senior guard averaged 31.5 points while helping the Pilgrims move to 4-0 with wins over Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart and Maple Valley. Havey scored a varsity career-high 40 points in a win Tuesday over Sacred Heart. He had 23 points in Friday’s victory over Maple Valley. He is averaging 27.5 points this winter for Lansing Christian.
AAZH NYE, EAST LANSING GIRLS BASKETBALL: The junior guard averaged 15.0 points and 7.0 rebounds while helping the Trojans to victories over Haslett and Everett last week. Nye had 15 points and eight rebounds in a 60-50 win over Haslett on Tuesday. She followed with 15 points and six rebounds in a win over Everett on Friday for Trojans, who are 4-1.
