Here are your nominees:
Jalen Mitchell, Rockledge football
Mitchell may have the stat line of the year for Brevard high school football. He rushed for 410 yards and four touchdowns in a 68-42 win over Satellite. His touchdowns included runs of 2, 40, 57 and 60 yards.
Kylie Angiel, Covenant Christian bowling
Angiel rolled a 233 Thursday helping her team to a 7-0 victory over Bayside.
Angiel followed that up with a 205 Friday in a 4-3 team win over Viera.
Clay Kyle, Titusville bowling
Kyle barely missed a 300 Friday night, rolling a 279 in a 4-3 team win over Space Coast. He had 11 strikes and picked up a 9-spare. The day before, Kyle had a 227 in a 5-2 team win over Rockledge.
Jamie Wood, Satellite volleyball
Wood had an impressive 30 kills in a five-set slugfest against Cocoa Beach on Thursday. Wood added two aces as the Scorpions won 26-24, 21-25, 25-11, 20-25, 16-14.
Calvin Sierota, Viera boys golf
Sierota shot a 72 on Wednesday at Royal St. Cloud to lead the Hawks to a third-place finish in the District 16-3A championship. Viera advanced to this week’s regional tournament.
Week 8 Picks winner
Congratulations to Robert Rebensky of Palm Bay, the Week 8 Pick ’Em contest winner. Rebensky was one of four people to go 10-0, and he won on the tiebreaker. The question asked the points total of the Cocoa-Jones game. He chose 48. The answer was 47. Rebensky is the seventh person to have a chance to win a flat screen TV at the end of the season.
