Week 6 preview/pick | PRP at St. Xavier

It’s the Week 6 Kentucky HS football preview with the C-J’s Jason Frakes and Chris White looking at this week’s monster games in the Louisville area.

* Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

* Storyline: Battle of Top 20 teams in Litkenhous Ratings.

* PRP: The No. 12-ranked Panthers led No. 1 Trinity 10-7 early in the second quarter before falling 29-10 last week. Junior Dewayne Hall rushed for 87 yards on eight carries in the defeat. Now the Panthers get a shot at Louisville’s other Class 6-A Catholic-school powerhouse. The Panthers are 0-18 all-time against the Tigers, including a 21-13 loss last year.

* St. X: The No. 7 Tigers rolled past Highlands 45-18 last week as senior running back Sam Taylor rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Taylor has rushed for 526 yards and five TDs this season. Recovering from an ACL injury in the spring, senior Blake Roshkowski had a breakout performance with a 45-yard touchdown run and a 10-yard TD reception from Desmond Ridder.

* Quotable: “We just have to learn how to finish and get some three-and-outs on defense,” PRP coach Jason Hiser said. “(Trinity) just methodically racked up yards on us and ate up the clock. … We know we have another tough game against a really good team, but our kids also know they can win it.”

* The pick: St. X 28-16.
