Whittier Christian (La Habra, Calif.) quarterback Quinn Commans threw for nine touchdown passes to equal a CIF-Southern Section record in a 68-55 victory against Bell.
If that wasn’t enough, he also ran for a score.
Commans threw for 490 yards on 27-for-39 passing, according to The Orange County Register, and added 46 yards rushing.
The nine TD passes equaled the mark set twice by Robert De La Cruz of Cathedral (Los Angeles) in 1998 and ’99.
He has 20 touchdown passes on the season through four games and is averaging 374.5 yards per game.
