Baseball season may be a ways off, but Roberson already has it eyes on some needed field improvements as well as a return trip to April’s IMG National Classic tournament in Bradenton, Fla.

To help fund these endeavors, the Rams are holding a wiffle ball tournament  Oct. 29 at Holmes-Smith Field. Tournament play begins at 10 a.m., rain or shine.

There will be three competitive divisions – adult co-ed corporate for a business, church or school team ($150), family for 2-3 adults and 2-3 children per team ($125) and student for all high school and college-age players ($100). Teams may include up to five players and there will be prizes for the winning team in each bracket. Players can participate in multiple divisions, but only for two teams at most.

There is a three-game guarantee, and the format is five innings or a 30-minute time limit.

After round-robin play, there will be a single-elimination playoff for each division.

Team uniforms are encouraged, and prizes will be given for the best ones.

Admission for spectators is $3 or $5 for a family and other donations will be accepted.

Barbeque and other food options will be available as well as cornhole and inflatables for children to play on.
