Culver Military

Result: Previous: 1. Culver ended the season hoisting the trophy at the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championship with a 9-5 win over the Haverford School (Pa.). The Fords were the only team that had defeated Culver this year – a double-overtime game back in late March. Culver finishes the year with five Super 25 victories, plus a win over a talented Everest Academy (Ont.) team.

Landon School

Gaithersburg, MD 21 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 2. The Bears closed out the year against IAC rival Bullis, claiming the conference championship. Joey Epstein (Johns Hopkins) put up six goals and two assists, while Nate Buller (Navy) scored five goals in the win. Draw specialist Justin Shockey (Navy) controlled the face-offs as usual. Landon has Super 25 wins over Brunswick, Bullis (twice) and St. Ignatius Prep.

Hill Academy

Concord, ON 15 - 1 - 0

Result: Previous: 3. The Hill Academy took home the GEICO High School Lacrosse Nationals title on May 30, taking down Georgetown Prep (Md.) 12-6. It gave another Super 25 victory to the Pride, who also earned win over the Christ School (N.C.) at the event. Brodie Merrill’s team has lost just twice in its last three seasons.

Brunswick-Greenwich

Greenwich, CT 15 - 1 - 0

Result: Previous: 4. The Bruins closed out their schedule on May 20 with a 13-5 win over the Berkshire School (Mass.). Brunswick ends the year with three wins over current Super 25 opponents.

Darien

Darien, CT 23 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 5. Darien ran away with its fifth consecutive Connecticut Class L state title on June 10, downing Cheshire (Conn.) 16-3. It gives the program its fifth consecutive state title and its 54th straight win. Kevin Lindley (Loyola) scored four times in victory.

Calvert Hall

Baltimore, MD 17 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 7. The Cardinals captured their first MIAA A Conference title since 2012 with an impressive run through the regular season and then the postseason, culminating with a 12-6 win over No. 7 McDonogh (Md.) on John Hopkins’ Homewood Field May 25. Brendan Curry (Syracuse) scored four times and added two assists in the win. Calvert Hall finishes the year undefeated in the vaunted MIAA.

McDonogh

Owings Mills, MD 17 - 4 - 0

Result: Previous: 8. The Eagles fell 12-6 to No. 6 Calvert Hall in the finals of the MIAA A Conference championship held at Johns Hopkins University. The Eagles end the year with wins over the likes of No. 16 Haverford School (Pa.), No. 10 Bullis (Md.), No. 18 Boys’ Latin, Chaminade (N.Y.) and Gonzaga (D.C.).

Cold Spring Harbor

Cold Spring Harbor, NY 21 - 0 - 0

Result: Previous: 8. The Seahawks had to overcome a 5-1 deficit in the New York State Class C state championship, and they did it, ultimately outlasting Jamesville-DeWitt 11-9 to claim the program’s third consecutive state title. Senior attackman Ian Laviano (Virginia) finishes the year with 68 goals and 39 assists, while Matt Licciardi (Cornell) totaled 24 goals and 65 assists.

Delbarton

Morristown, NJ 21 - 1 - 0

Result: Previous: 9. The Green Wave won the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title on June 10, downing Moorestown 15-9 in an impressive end to the year. Luca Tria (Cornell), Michael Long and Matt Campbell each scored three times in the win, which represents Delbarton and Chuck Ruebling’s sixth TOC title.

Bullis School

Potomac, MD 18 - 3 - 0

Result: Previous: 11. Bullis fell 18-7 to current No. 2 Landon (Md.) in the IAC championship on May 12. The Bulldogs finish the year with only losses to Landon (two) and McDonogh on their resume. They own wins over the likes of Gonzaga (D.C.), Loyola Blakefield (Md.), two victories over No. 23 Georgetown Prep (Md.), Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) and St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.).

IMG Academy

Bradenton, FL 12 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 12. IMG Academy dismantled the Christ School (N.C.) 26-9 at the GEICO High School Lacrosse Nationals in Washington D.C., but then in the semifinals were edged 13-12 by Georgetown Prep (Md.), No. 23 in this week’s rankings. The Ascenders losses this year came to the Hoyas and No. 3 Hill Academy, each just by one goal.

Deerfield Academy

Deerfield, MA 14 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 13. The Big Green survived an overtime battle to end the year, edging Phillips Exeter (N.H.) 9-8 on May 20. Deerfield closes out the year with only one loss to New England West competition – an 11-6 setback to No. 4 Brunswick (Conn.) to begin the year.

Avon Old Farms

Avon, CT 15 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 14. The Winged Beavers picked up a Super 25 win on May 20, taking down No. 14 Salisbury School (Conn.) 16-8. Ending the year in strong fashion, Avon rolled to a 19-10 win over Loomis Chaffee (Conn.) on May 24.

Salisbury School

Salisbury, CT 12 - 5 - 0

Result: Previous: 15. The Crimson Knights played a brutal stretch in the previous weeks, facing three consecutive Super 25 opponents – Brunswick, Deerfield and Avon – and falling to each of them. But Salisbury righted one of its early wrongs, earning an 8-4 win over Choate (Conn.) on May 24 to end the year and to avenge one of its losses.

La Salle

Wyndmoor, PA 21 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 6. The Explorers were upended in one of the more significant upsets in the history of the PIAA tournament. La Salle was edged 8-6 in a state quarterfinal battle. The Explorers finish the year with Super 25 wins over No. 16 Haverford (Pa.) and No. 20 Malvern Prep (Pa.).

Haverford

Haverford, PA 16 - 7 - 0

Result: Previous: 16. The Fords upended No. Malvern Prep (Pa.) 13-10 in the semifinals of the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championship on May 19. But then Haverford fell to No. 1 Culver Academy (Ind.), and the Eagles exacted revenge on the Fords for the double-overtime loss in late March. Culver downed Haverford 9-5 in the finale. The Fords end the year with six Super 25 wins on their resume and were the only team to beat Culver.

Episcopal Academy

Merion Station, PA 11 - 5 - 0

Result: Previous: 17. The Churchmen gave No. 1 Culver Academy all it could handle in the semifinals of the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championships, falling 6-5 in a battle. All but one of Episcopal’s losses this season came to Super 25 teams.

Saint Ignatius

Result: Previous: 19. The Wildcats finished the year as champions of the WCAL, capping the season with a 9-4 win over rival Bellarmine Prep (Calif.). It was another impressive year for the West Coast power, which owns wins over Chaminade (N.Y.), Gonzaga (D.C.), Garden City (N.Y.) and Texas High School Lacrosse League Division 1 champion Dallas Jesuit.

Malvern Prep

Result: Previous: 20. The Friars fell in their third matchup of the year against rival and No. 16 Haverford School (Pa.) to end the season. In the semifinals of the Inter-Ac Invitational Lacrosse Championship, Malvern was upended 13-10 by the Fords. The Friars losses this year came only to current Super 25 teams.

Result: Previous: 21. The Huskies finished out the year undefeated, capping their season with a 14-5 win over Brewster Academy (N.H.) in the Lakes Regions championship.

Georgetown Prep

Result: Previous: 23. The Hoyas jump into the Super 25 thanks to a strong showing in the GEICO High School Lacrosse Nationals taking place right in their backyard. They pulled off a big upset, taking down No. 11 IMG Academy (Fla.) 13-12 in overtime in the semifinals. In the finale, the Hoyas were outlasted 12-6 by No. 3-ranked Hill Academy (Ont.).

Melville

East Setauket, NY 20 - 2 - 0

Result: Previous: 25. The Patriots pulled off a comeback for the ages, scoring four goals in less than two minutes to rally from behind and tie the New York State Class A championship with just seconds on the clock. In overtime, Matt Grillo sunk the game winner as the extra frame came to a close, lifting Ward Melville to the program’s ninth state title. The Patriots finished the year with a 15-game win streak.

Avon Grove

Result: Previous: Unranked. Avon Grove pulled off a 5-4 double-overtime win over Conestoga in the PIAA championship, avenging a 14-12 loss to the Pioneers earlier in the year. Zach Augustine scored the game winner to lift the Red Devils to their first state title.
